Brief history of Champagne
Champagne is considered a luxury drink, and the monk credited with its development was Dom Pierre Pérignon.
Curiously, Dom Pérignon did not intend to make a sparkling wine, its intention was to make white wine from red grapes.
Dom Pérignon finally managed to make a great white wine from red grapes, but a small detail arose: bubbles appeared in the bottles in his white wine. Dom Pérignon did not understand what was happening, in fact he spent much of his life trying to avoid bubbles in wine.
However, for the English to whom the monks sent white wine, they loved the "bad" version, that is, they liked Dom Pérignon's "bubbly" wine more than the normal version.
Legend has it that when the monk Dom Pérignon tasted this wine he said to his companions: "Come quickly, I am drinking the stars."
